Programme Name: LCST

Location: Bristol, UK, the role will be hybrid, with expectations to be in office 1-2 days a week with some UK and potential overseas travel.

Role Overview

Leidos Europe has an opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to support assurance and improvement activities within elements of the Logistics Commodities Services Transformation (LCST) programme. This role is Ideal for candidates looking to grow into airworthiness/defence quality.

Reporting to the Air Safety Compliance & Assurance Lead, the SQE will work with a team of quality assurance and compliance colleagues to help deliver internal, external and supplier audits.

As part of the compliance team, you will support quality and compliance activities and contribute to the ongoing development of the programme.

The role will be hybrid, with expectations to be in office at least once a week with some UK and potentially overseas travel.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of procedures and plans to assure the quality of products and services for Team Leidos within the Defence customer’s air domain. Contribute to the improvement of processes and procedures to meet agreed quality and programme performance standards.
  • Engage with programme stakeholders to support the effective operation of quality management systems and help ensure procedures are followed across the organisation and supply chain.
  • Perform 1st and 2nd Party assurance audits against ISO 9001 standards and, following development AS9100/AS9120, delivering reports that add value and drive continuous improvement.
  • Assist with airworthiness‑related supplier quality issues and support agreed escalation or intervention activities where required
  • Provide timely access to programme, project, and operational documentation in support of Defence‑requested activities
  • Support the delivery of quality‑focused training across the programme to improve awareness and compliance.
  • Provide cover for the Air Safety Compliance & Assurance Lead at various working group meetings as required.
Skills Required
  • ISO
    9001 Lead Auditor certification or working towards certification and will be expected to undergo further training, progressing to AS9100/AS9120 Lead Auditor after probationary period
  • A minimum of Level 4 (e.g. HNC) qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Experience in a quality, engineering, manufacturing, or technical environment, including exposure to quality management or auditing activities
  • UK citizenship
  • Be able to achieve SC clearance
Skills Desired
  • Experience working with MOD contracts, policies and procedures including AQAP, Defence Standards, and Joint Service Publications.
  • Knowledge and use of Continuous Improvement tools (e.g. Six Sigma/Lean)
  • Experience working with the following tools:
    Power BI, SharePoint, MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Jira
Clearance Requirements
  • BPSS pre-screening required to Start
  • SC required for the role
  • Be able to achieve SC clearance
  • UK citizenship
