Our client, a well-established engineering and design consultancy, is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Bristol.

Responsibilities of Quantity Surveyor:

* Operate as part of the client’s team, coordinating closely with senior stakeholders, project managers, contractors, and internal departments to build and sustain effective working relationships.

* Oversee project expenditure to ensure delivery within approved budgets. Review, verify, and manage contractor and supplier valuations, costs, and payments.

* Prepare and issue consistent financial updates to provide clients with clear visibility and confidence in project performance. Communicate financial status, forecasts, and risk assessments.

* Lead or assist with procurement activities, including the assessment, selection, and appointment of contractors.

* Administer a range of contract forms, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations. Assess and manage change events, reviewing entitlement and quotations, and securing prompt agreement. Partner with the Project Manager to maintain detailed and accurate project documentation.

* Proactively identify and evaluate commercial risks, implementing mitigation strategies where necessary. Contribute to value engineering initiatives to enhance overall project efficiency and outcomes.

Experience Required for Quantity Surveyor:

* Degree qualified (BSc) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline

* Experienced in both pre-contract and post-contract quantity surveying responsibilities

* Familiar with NEC4, FIDIC, or IChemE forms of contract

* Knowledgeable in standard measurement methodologies such as CESMM4 and MMHW

* Experience delivering civil infrastructure projects (highways, water, or rail experience advantageous)

* Progressing toward membership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or a comparable professional body
