Altrad is a leading provider of critical infrastructure services, supporting the safe and sustainable delivery of the UK’s most important assets.
With over 11,000 talented people worldwide, we deliver a full spectrum of engineering, construction and maintenance services across highly regulated sectors, including nuclear, defence, energy and industrial environments. At Sizewell C, Altrad is a key delivery partner within the Mechanical, Electrical and HVAC (MEH) Alliance, supporting one of the UK’s largest and most complex nuclear new-build programmes.
Role Overview
Altrad is looking for a Modular Engineer to join the team at Sizewell
C. This role will analyse the SZC Detailed Design on a room-by-room basis, within a set of criteria, to identify and record methods by which the Project can reduce the reliance of on-site pipe welding. The bulk of the work will be identifying pipework that could be prefabricated into sub-assemblies (Modules).
Key Responsibilities:
* Timely ‘site weld transfer’ analysis, including proposals and justifications for a series of rooms governed by the overall SZC Construction Schedule.
* Work will be completed to defined and validated criteria and rules.
* Pending experience, individuals may be asked to review and/or approve the work of others.
Key Requirements:
* Engineering Degree Qualified or Equivalent.
* Experience of design layout/sub-assembly to optimise manufacturing and installation of pipework.
* Proficient in the navigation and interrogation of CAD models (the current design uses Navisworks).
* Working knowledge of modern pipework construction methodologies, in a high hazard, highly regulated environment, that affect the logical installation of pipework/equipment in a construction environment.
* Adhering to the Company’s Health, Safety & Environment policies, procedures, and standards.
* Experience of pipework installation or construction planning on other EPR or similar nuclear/oil & gas construction
* Experience of the HPC Detailed Design and Execution Design processes would be an advantage.
* Knowledge of the RCCM regulations would be an advantage.
* Awareness of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
Why Join Altrad at Sizewell C?
* Be part of one of the UK’s largest nuclear new-build programmes
* A collaborative, safety-driven and professional working environment
* Competitive salary and benefits package.
* Opportunities for career growth and professional development.
* Collaborative and dynamic work environment with a focus on innovation and excellence
