Magenta Recruitment are recruiting for an Electrical Civils Estimator for an electrical cable installation company based in the Kent area.

With headquartered in Kent, they operate extensively across the South East—including Essex, Surrey, and Sussex—and regularly deliver projects throughout London, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hampshire, and nationwide.
Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Electrical Civils Estimator to support a growing workload, with a particular focus on substation projects up to 132kV. This contract role is ideal for a seasoned professional who can work autonomously, communicate effectively with internal teams, and deliver accurate, timely estimates for complex electrical and civil engineering schemes.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our 2026 project pipeline, contributing technical expertise and industry insight to help shape competitive and compliant bids.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical civils works, with a focus on substation projects up to 132kV.
- Review technical drawings, specifications, and tender documents to determine project scope and requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
- Assess project risks, constraints, and opportunities to support bid strategy.
- Work closely with the team to ensure estimates align with operational capabilities and client expectations.
- Provide clear, structured documentation to support tender submissions.
- Contribute technical insight to project planning and value‑engineering discussions.
- Maintain strong awareness of industry standards, pricing trends, and best practices within the UK power sector.
- Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator, ideally within the UK power industry.
- Strong background in substation works and HV infrastructure, with demonstrable experience on schemes at 132kV or above.
- Technical understanding of both electrical and construction disciplines.
- Ability to work independently, manage workload effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence collaborating with remote teams.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
- Duration: 2‑month fixed‑term contract
- Commitment: 3–4 days per week
- Location: Fully remote, with occasional travel to Kent HQ and national project sites
- Start Date: Immediate or as soon as available
- Salary Range: £400 - £450/Day.
