About the Opportunity
Amentum are the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver ~£7bn of major projects. We are looking to recruit high value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering major projects, site wide improvements and provision of supporting services.
Our Nuclear team provides the front end design and engineering capability across the PPP portfolio. Being part of the PPP Team offers a unique opportunity to drive change and innovation in engineering, safety and delivery solutions in one of the most complex industrial sites in the UK if not the world. We are looking for people who are passionate about developing themselves and in meeting new challenges.
We are currently recruiting for a Lead C&I Engineer to be based out of Westlakes in Cumbria.
As a Lead C&I Engineer your responsibilities could include;
- Lead project delivery teams during finalisation of detail design and construction and commissioning phase of the project.
- Completion of C&I focussed Plant Modification Proposals
- Report progress and issues to engineering management and responsible engineer.
- Maintain client relationships in order to provide design solutions that are fit for purpose and satisfy the needs of the new and existing buildings.
- Work on system integration, testing and validation of systems
- Demonstrate knowledge of the practical aspects of implementing engineering designs and understand the use of standards and compliance with regulatory requirements in an engineering environment
As a Lead Engineer you will already have;
- Specific C&I experience.
- HNC, BEng, MEng in EC&I, chartered Engineer (or actively working towards) with a relevant professional body
- Previous team leadership, line management or technical lead role experience.
- Awareness of interdisciplinary links and stake holder management between disciplines
- Specific experience with design process, Engineering standards and Guides.
- Experience of delivery of modifications to existing plants.
- An understanding of the relevant guidelines, standards and practices (e.g., IEC 61508, 61511, 61513, 61226, ONR SAPs / TAGS)
- Knowledge and experience in the systematic design lifecycle of a C&I system; including specification, design, assessment, verification, testing, installation, commissioning and maintenance of safety or process critical I&C Systems
