Simulation, Modelling and Control Engineers – Permanent

Numerous Simulation, Modelling and Control Engineers are required within an Advanced Aerospace, Marine and Defence Services Organisation. The role will suit an engineer looking to diversify or develop their experience and work within a team responsible for producing models at vehicle and systems level representing mathematical and control algorithms.

The engineer will use toolsets including MATLAB, Simulink, Python and associated toolboxes, have a good understanding of version control software (e.g., Git) and task management tools as part of collaborative working. Industrial engineering experience or experience using modelling for the development and analysis of complex systems is expected.

Flexible working may be available with a hybrid working model for part of the week.

Responsibilities
  • Work within the Simulation, Modelling and Control team developing models and running simulation analyses for a variety of reasons, including support of equipment and system design activities.
  • Validate and derive system and equipment requirements.
  • Develop system control and monitoring algorithms.
  • Conduct root‑cause analysis.
  • Write technical reports, from Model Description Documents to Analysis Reports.
  • Represent the company to customers, contribute to technical proposals and lead technical modelling packages of work up to technical signatory and beyond.
  • Collaborate with technical leads and principal engineers to learn modelling best practices, contribute ideas to improve methods and efficiencies.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a related discipline, preferably Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or Mathematics.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of fundamental modelling principles.
  • Qualities such as confidentiality, a flexible can‑do approach, professional attitude, self‑motivation and a solid team‑working ethos.
