Our client, a pioneering aerospace organisation leading the development of next-generation electric aircraft, is seeking an experienced Aircraft Structures Stress Engineer to support the development of cutting-edge eVTOL platforms.

The Role
Responsibilities:
* Prepare stress analysis of composite and metallic aircraft structures using classical methods, finite element techniques, and hand calculations
* Develop and validate structural substantiation for primary and secondary structures including wing, empennage and fuselage
* Write, review and approve detailed stress reports (PSR, JSR and certification dossiers)
* Ensure structures meet airworthiness and certification requirements (FAA / EASA desirable)
* Participate in design reviews and trade-off studies to validate and optimise design solutions
* Evaluate and challenge design concepts to ensure safety, manufacturability, maintainability and inspectability
* Support programme milestones while balancing quality, budget and schedule requirements
* Conduct peer reviews and provide technical guidance within the stress team
* Act as technical interface with certification authorities when required
* Attend customer facilities for key meetings and programme reviews (hybrid working supported based on project needs)
About You
Essential
Skills & Experience:
* Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
* 6–10 years’ experience as a Structural / Stress Engineer (eVTOL experience advantageous)
* Strong knowledge of primary and secondary aircraft structures (Wing, Empennage, Fuselage)
* Expertise in metallic and composite structural analysis methodologies
* Team leadership experience is a strong advantage
* Strong background in classical hand calculations and aerospace reference methods
* Experience with FEA tools such as Hyper Mesh, Nastran/Patran (including nonlinear Solver 400)
* Experience with Simcenter 3D, Hyper
X/Hypersizer or Abaqus is advantageous
* Experience with PLM systems (Windchill preferred)
* Strong technical report writing skills including PSR and JSR documentation
* Knowledge of aerospace composite and metallic materials and manufacturing processes
* Familiarity with certification standards (FAA / EASA desirable)
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic VBA scripting
* Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in integrated project teams
