💰 £70,000 – £90,000 Basic Salary + Benefits
Our client, an innovative aerospace organisation at the forefront of next-generation electric aviation, is seeking an experienced Aircraft Structures Design Engineer to join their growing engineering team in Bristol.
This is a rare opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge eVTOL aircraft, supporting the design of primary and secondary structures including wing, empennage and fuselage assemblies. You will play a key role in shaping the future of sustainable aviation.
The Role
Responsibilities:
* Design and develop composite and metallic aircraft structures
* Create and validate 3D model-based definitions within CATIA V5 / 3
DEXPERIENCE
* Work within digital mock-up (DMU) environments
* Collaborate with systems integration teams to ensure structural compatibility
* Produce engineering drawings and manufacturing data for production release
* Support certification activities (FAA / EASA standards desirable)
* Generate ECNs and technical documentation
* Participate in customer reviews and programme gate reviews
* Deliver engineering solutions to demanding programme schedules
This role will involve a mix of office-based and on-site work depending on project requirements.
About You
Essential
Skills & Experience:
* Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
* 6–10 years’ experience in aircraft structural design (eVTOL experience advantageous)
* Some team leadership experience is highly beneficial
* Experience designing primary and secondary structures (Wing, Empennage, Fuselage)
* Strong hands-on experience with CATIA V5 and 3
DEXPERIENCE
* CPD (Composites Design
3) and Fibersim experience
* Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis
* Experience using PLM systems (Windchill preferred)
* Good understanding of composite and metallic aerospace materials and manufacturing processes
* Familiarity with certification standards (FAA / EASA desirable)
* Strong communication skills and ability to work within integrated project teams
