DescriptionFlatirons Solutions is looking to hire an Engineering Methods Technician to join our UK team!
The Engineering Methods Technician will support Technical Publications delivery through effective technical administration, engineering definition activities, change management coordination, and performance reporting, working closely with engineering, methods, and technical publications stakeholders to ensure change activity is correctly managed, tracked, and delivered in line with program requirements.

To satisfy security clearance requirements candidates need to be UK nationals and should be located within travelling distance of our customers Bristol location due to the requirement to work on site.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs an Engineering Methods Technician you will be involved in:
Engineering Methods and Technical Publications Administration, Engineering Definition Support, and Delivery Metrics and Reporting.
- Support the management of Technical Publication workflows, including Change Requests and Change Packages.
- Triage incoming Change Requests against defined engineering and publication requirements using a structured checklist.
- Coordinate the packaging of approved changes into publication Change Packages.
- Ensure Change Packages are aligned with the status of associated engineering and publication work.
- Coordinate manual revision delivery activities and support Rolls‑Royce teams and suppliers to achieve agreed schedules.
- Produce delivery status reports for review by the Engineering Manager – Methods and Technical Publications, or their delegate.
- Support governance activities, including daily stand‑ups and delivery review meetings.
- Create and maintain Change Packages required to initiate Technical Publication amendments.
- Ensure compliance with established minimum standards, engineering methods guidance, writing rules, and specifications.
- Maintain traceability, configuration control, and workflow discipline across change activities.
- Develop, maintain, and improve Power BI dashboards to monitor delivery performance against defined KPIs.
- Manage and integrate data from work management tools such as Business map and Insight.
- Analyse and highlight delivery trends, risks, and performance issues to Engineering Methods leadership.
- Support continuous improvement of reporting tools, implementing agreed enhancements within defined timescales.
- Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on data input requirements to support accurate reporting.
- Understand and adhere to all requirements of the Quality Management System and the Information Security Management System.
- Associates degree in technical/electronics discipline; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in an aerospace/engineering method, technical administration, or technical publications environment.
- Understanding of Technical Publication standards and configuration management principles.
- Strong organisational and coordination skills across multiple stakeholders.
- Experience using work management or task tracking tools (e.g. Business map, Insight, Jira or similar).
- Experience developing reports or dashboards using Power BI or equivalent BI tools.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present delivery status and performance data clearly.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, technical manuals, illustrated parts lists and schematics. Ability to write technical manuals, procedure manuals and service bulletins.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, team members, and customers. Familiar with AECMA Simplified English.
- Familiarity with structured engineering governance and compliance-driven documentation environments.
