We are supporting a major UK infrastructure programme in the search for an experienced Supplier Development & Inspection Team Manager. This is a senior quality leadership role operating within a highly regulated, high-hazard environment, offering the chance to influence manufacturing quality across complex, safety-critical supply chains.
You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for supplier development, inspection coordination, and risk-based surveillance across large-scale engineering programmes.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop a team of SQEP inspectors, supplier development specialists and inspection coordinators
- Deliver integrated, risk-based surveillance and inspection programmes aligned to programme milestones
- Oversee supplier qualification, capability assessments and performance improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with ISO 19443, ISO 9001, IAEA GS-R Part 2 and Intelligent Customer principles
- Provide proportionate oversight of third-party inspection bodies
- Interface with engineering, procurement, programme and senior quality stakeholders
- Maintain strong governance, reporting and audit trails suitable for regulatory scrutiny
- Significant experience in nuclear, energy or other high-hazard industries
- Strong background in manufacturing quality, inspection, or supplier development
- In-depth knowledge of ISO 19443 and nuclear quality standards
- Experience leading technically competent (SQEP) teams in complex project environments
- Confident engaging with regulators, independent technical authorities and senior leadership
- Knowledge of welding, NDT and special processes is highly desirable
- Long-term contract on a nationally significant programme
- Senior, influential role within a critical supply‑chain quality function
- Hybrid working from Aztec West, Bristol
