Job Title: RF Designer

Salary: Circa £65,000 depending on experience

Location: Stevenage (relocation package may be offered)

Dynamic (hybrid) working: Work 3-4 days per week onsite; flexible full-time or part-time options available.

Security Clearance: British Citizen or Dual UK national with British citizenship; BPSS check required.

We are looking for an RF Design engineer with proven practical design experience for cutting‑edge defence products. Focus on research, design and testing of radio‑frequency technology for integration into complex weapons systems. Hands‑on testing, board modifications and rapid prototypes are key responsibilities. A team player with initiative and passion for electronic engineering will thrive.

• Proven practical RF component‑level design and testing across 30 MHz to 30 GHz (LNA, HPA, filter, LO, synthesiser, modulator)
• RF design experience for harsh environments (EMC, vibration, thermal)
• Ability to perform design proving tests and trials in onsite laboratory
• Excellent practical skills: soldering, fault finding, RF test equipment (Spectrum Analysers, Power Meters & VNAs)
• Good knowledge of digital, analogue and power supply design
• Experience using RF design tools (e.g., Microwave Office) including layout
• Fully conversant with manufacturing techniques and capabilities (design for manufacture and test)
• Strong communicator with excellent presentation and report writing skills; clear communication of problems, solutions or results to team and customer
