OpportunityAre you a Systems Engineer with design leadership experience, looking for a new challenge in an innovative and high-stakes environment? We are seeking an Equipment Design Authority to join a dynamic team in Bristol. In this key role, you will take the lead in the design, development, and validation of critical hardware and software systems for cutting-edge defence technology projects. As the Equipment Design Authority, you will oversee the technical development, certification sign-off, and in-service support for a key component of complex missile systems.
This involves close collaboration with multiple engineering disciplines, including systems engineering, software engineering, electronics, and mechanical engineering, ensuring that both hardware and software designs are robust, validated, and in line with customer requirements. You will drive the design and build of these systems, ensuring that every technical aspect meets the required standards and is successfully validated for deployment. This role also offers the opportunity to develop your leadership skills and grow within a highly skilled team.
You'll Do
- Lead the design and development of a complex electronics subsystem, ensuring alignment with system requirements and standards.
- Manage technical risks and opportunities through the product development lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with product design stakeholders to ensure design goals are met.
- Apply your systems engineering expertise to ensure integration of hardware and software components.
- Support system, subsystem, and component-level requirements engineering to enable the successful evolution of the product design.
- Lead the validation of test procedures and ensure products meet the necessary certification requirements.
- Proven design leadership within complex electronics systems.
- Experience in hardware and software design for computer-based electronics equipment.
- Ability to manage technical risks and opportunities effectively.
- Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles, processes, and practices.
- Experience in requirements engineering at various system levels (System, Subsystem, Component).
- A passion for validation and testing processes to ensure product certification.
- Flexible Working: 3-4 days per week on-site to suit workload classification.
