Position: Principal Infrastructure/Civil Engineer (General Civils and Residential

Principal Infrastructure/Civil Engineer (General Civils and Residential) - Bristol

We are recruiting a Principal Infrastructure/Civil Engineer to join our expanding Infrastructure Engineering team in Bristol. This unique and exciting opportunity will allow you to help us deliver an exceptional service that creates sustainable and successful development across a wide-ranging portfolio of clients in all sectors in the UK.

Your areas of knowledge and expertise
  • BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering or a related subject plus 6+ years of relevant postgraduate experience;
    Chartered or Incorporated with ICE is preferred.
  • Demonstrable ability to lead residential or general infrastructure development schemes, including highways, drainage, level and plot engineering, and managing and prioritising junior team members.
  • Expertise in best‑practice guidance such as Manual for Streets, Design and Construction Guidance, CIRIA SuDS Manual, Sewerage Sector Guidance, Building Regulations and local authority design standards.
  • Ability to prepare drawings and calculations for both private and adoptable arrangements, obtain ordinary watercourse consent and technical approval for S104/S38 agreements.
  • Strong numeracy and software skills, with experience of AutoCAD, 3D CAD (Civil3D or equivalent) and drainage modelling software such as Causeway Flow.
  • Management of non‑technical project aspects – contract, financial, programme and resourcing – and a client‑facing role.
  • Background in consultancy/private‑sector development and a pragmatic approach to residential schemes from concept to construction.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.
  • A full driving licence and access to a car.
