The role

As a Project Controller, you’ll have a role that is out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of delivering complex and critical projects that support energy security and national protection. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact—helping to ensure projects run efficiently and effectively while developing your expertise in project controls and performance management.

Day-to-day
  • Support Project Managers and Project Controls Managers with weekly and monthly performance reports, analysis, and narrative.
  • Carry out variance and trend analysis for schedule and cost, supporting recovery plans where needed.
  • Collate and analyse Earned Value Management data and produce associated narratives.
  • Assist with Estimate at Completion (EAC), monthly performance, and risk reviews.
  • Maintain project databases, trackers, templates, and documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency.

You’ll work 37 hours per week, based at BTC Bristol (with at least two days onsite per week). Flexible working patterns are available, including core hours and an early finish on Fridays. Occasional travel to Warrington, Cheshire (quarterly) may be required.

Essential Experience
  • Planning awareness, preferably with Primavera P6.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Baseline Management, Change Control, and Earned Value Management.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working in integrated teams.
  • Familiarity with project management toolsets such as SAP, Risk Hive, or Primavera.
