The Role Our client is looking to appoint a Senior Civil Engineer to join their Bristol office. This is a key role within the civil engineering team, offering the opportunity to take a hands-on position in the design, coordination and delivery of residential-led infrastructure projects, alongside other development work. The role offers a broad mix of responsibilities, including civil design, drainage, highways/interface coordination and client liaison, with the chance to remain actively involved in design rather than moving into a purely managerial position.
Key Responsibilities Lead and contribute to the civil engineering design of residential and mixed-use developments Preparation and review of designs for:
Highways and access infrastructure Surface and foul water drainage Levels, earthworks and external works Delivery of projects from concept through detailed design and technical approval stages Work with and manage junior engineers and technicians Liaise with clients, local authorities and project stakeholders Coordinate with internal structural and multidisciplinary teams Contribute to project planning, programme delivery and commercial awareness About You Essential:
Strong experience in residential infrastructure design Background in a UK civil engineering design consultancy Minimum 6 years' industry experience Confident client-facing skills with commercial awareness Solid experience with Section Agreements:
Section 278 (highways) Section 38 (adoptable roads) Section 104 (drainage) Section 185 (water mains) Proficient in AutoCAD and civil design software such as:
