We are looking for a Principal or Associate Fire Engineer to join our team in Glasgow, Bristol, Manchester or London. Competitive salary + benefits.

Our Fire Engineering group is led by Chartered Engineers from the Institution of Fire Engineers, working on high‑profile projects such as Heathrow Terminal 2, Doha metro, Elephant & Castle redevelopment, ExCeL extension, Royal Hospital for Children, Manchester’s tallest buildings, and world‑cup stadia.
The RoleAs part of the Fire Engineering team, you will design fire safety for buildings, collaborate within Hoare Lea’s multi‑disciplinary teams, and maintain long‑term relationships with external clients.
Responsibilities- Lead fire safety design and integrate with other construction disciplines.
- Ensure open communication with all project team members and effectively manage feedback.
- Attend design team meetings, workshops, client briefings and site visits.
- Travel to UK clients and occasionally internationally as required.
- Analyse evacuation, smoke, fire, heat‑radiation and structural fire modelling using industry software.
- Experience with in a fire‑engineering consultancy.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Building Services, Maths, Architecture, or Physics with a strong interest in fire safety.
- IT‑literate with working knowledge of fire modelling software.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong organisational and planning skills to deliver against demanding deadlines.
