A welcoming primary school in the Downend area of Bristol is looking for a Psychology Graduate Learning Support Assistant to join their supportive team. You’ll gain insight into:

• Child development and learning behaviours
• Supporting pupils with additional learning needs

• Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and support teams

As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll work closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils thrive in the classroom.

Your day might include:

• Supporting pupils with their learning during lessons
• Working with small groups or on a 1:1 basis where needed
• Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Helping create a calm and supportive classroom environment
• Supporting children with additional or complex learning needs
• Following safeguarding procedures and reporting concerns appropriately

You’ll likely be someone who:

• Has recently completed, or is about to complete, a Psychology degree
• Is passionate about child development and education
• Has a calm, patient, and supportive approach

• Brings energy, positivity, and a good sense of humour to the classroom

Previous school experience is helpful but not essential. The school values attitude and potential just as much as experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
