Are you currently working with adults in special needs in a care setting but the hours feel too long? Zen Educate offers you an opportunity to transfer your skills to special needs schools, working with children with additional needs in a supportive environment.

We are looking for dedicated individuals for long‑term placements in special needs schools on either a full‑time or part‑time basis. Working hours are 8:30–3:30, Monday to Friday, term time only.

Children you will support may be diagnosed with autism, Down syndrome, PMLD, SLD, cerebral palsy and other complex needs.

• Support vulnerable children with special needs on a 1:1 basis, helping them with academic and social development.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, other TAs, and senior leadership to ensure progress and that each child’s needs are met.
• Follow the individual educational health care plan that has been set out.
• Manage behaviour consistently, empathetically and patiently.
• Provide personal care or toileting assistance where required.
• Be flexible to the school’s needs and reliable as part of a team.
• Hold an enhanced DBS on the national update service or be willing to obtain a new one.
