Empower young people in alternative education. We are looking for a HLTA to join the team of an established, trauma‑informed alternative provision in Bristol. The setting works with students across primary and secondary ages who have experienced disruption to their education and may be at risk of exclusion due to complex behavioural and emotional needs.
With a strong focus on positive relationships, personalised learning, and restorative practice, the provision offers a fresh start for young people in small, supportive settings. If you're passionate about helping young people re‑engage with learning, this is your chance to make a real impact.
The HLTA Role:- Daily rate: £100 – £130.35 per day, based on experience and role responsibilities
- Long‑term and potentially permanent position available after a settling‑in period
- Join an experienced, trauma‑informed team
- Work with small groups of students on interventions in Literacy and Numeracy as well as supporting with tailored enrichment activities
- Support students with SEMH, Autism (ASC), and sensory processing differences
- Promote positive behaviour and resilience through relational, student‑led approaches
- Experience supporting challenging behaviour in education, youth work, care, or similar fields
- Currently living in or near Bristol, with Right to Work in the UK
- Access to your own vehicle and business insurance as you may be required to transport students to offsite activities
- Enhanced DBS for the Child Workforce on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Strong sense of empathy, emotional resilience, and a flexible approach to working across year groups
- Team Teach (Level
2) or similar positive behaviour support training - Experience in SEMH or alternative provision settings
- Knowledge of trauma‑informed practice, attachment theory, or restorative approaches
