We are working with a highly regarded specialist school in Bristol that supports pupils on the Autistic spectrum with complex needs
. The school is looking for a committed and enthusiastic Autism Support Worker to join their dedicated team.
For many pupils with autism,
consistency and routine are key
, so this is a full-time role, five days a week during the academic year
, allowing you to build strong relationships and provide meaningful support to the children in your care.

- Opportunities for long-term and permanent roles
- Supporting pupils with Autism and complex needs
- Working 1:1 and in small groups to support learning and development
- Assisting with classroom activities and structured learning tasks
- Helping pupils with daily routines and transitions throughout the school day
- Supporting the delivery and development of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Working alongside experienced teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Have at least one year of experience supporting children with autism
- Are confident supporting pupils with complex needs
- Are comfortable assisting with personal care when required
- Have experience with behaviour management strategies
- Have knowledge of PECS or Makaton (desirable but not essential)
- Bring a patient, encouraging, and positive attitude to supporting young people
- Passport or proof of Right to Work in the UK
- Two proofs of address, for example driving licence, utility bill, or council tax letter
- CV covering the last 10 years of work or education
, with any gaps explained - Two years of references
, including childcare or relevant support work - DBS check
, we can support you with this if required - Overseas Police Check if you’ve lived abroad for more than three months in the last five years
