We have an opening for a Senior Digital Learning Designer (SDLD) in our innovative Digital Learning Team, supporting the College of Arts, Technology and Environment (CATE). As a team, we are committed to enhancing the student experience through a high-quality, digitally enabled, inclusive environment.

The SDLD plays a key role in shaping digital learning within the college, leading on student-centred and inclusive learning design. They provide expert pedagogic advice, guidance, and co‑design support to ensure digital learning meets the needs of academic staff and students.

Bridging strategy and practice, the SDLD leads initiatives and projects that enhance digital education. They work closely with the Digital Learning Manager to translate institutional and college priorities into best‑practice learning experiences. Collaboration is central to the role, working alongside SDLDs across all three colleges to drive innovation and inclusivity.

Our Digital Learning Team is a driving force behind UWE Bristol’s vision for education. We’re looking for a proactive and innovative individual who can shape digital learning culture and lead meaningful change across the university.

The Digital Learning Team is part of Education Services  vision is that we enable every UWE student to achieve their personal learning and career goals through working effectively in partnership to integrate our expertise and resources in digital learning, career development and academic skills seamlessly into their programme learning experience.

The focus of the work in Education Services is to:
  • Ensure that learning environments, both physical and digital, are effective, accessible and inclusive including discovery and resourcing provision that gives students access to the information and careers resources they need.
  • Encourage and support the utilisation of cutting-edge educational technology and resources to enhance learning.
  • Develop and deliver academic and career development skills resources and learning experiences that enable our students to achieve their goals.
  • Support to academic teams in the design and delivery of programmes and learning including digital learning, learner development and employability and enterprise skills.
