Teaching Assistant

We are seeking passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants to support students and assist teachers in delivering high-quality education. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to facilitate a positive learning environment, offer individualized support to students, and contribute to the overall development of the school community.

• Assist the teacher in planning, preparing, and delivering lessons.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with learning needs, including those with special educational needs (SEN).
• Support students emotional and social development, including encouraging positive behavior and promoting inclusion.
• Supervise students during classroom activities, playtime, and extracurricular activities.
• Help students develop their literacy, numeracy, and other subject-specific skills.
• Assist with classroom management and maintain an organized and safe learning environment.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of student assessments.
• Prepare teaching resources and learning materials as directed by the teacher.
• Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues, providing feedback on student progress where necessary.
• Participate in school meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.

• Relevant teaching assistant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certification).
• Previous experience working in a classroom or similar educational setting (preferred but not essential).
• Strong understanding of child development and behaviour management techniques.
• Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to different teaching styles.
• Good communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
• Passion for supporting students and helping them reach their potential.
• A positive, empathetic, and flexible approach to working with children.

• Experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEN).
• Knowledge of safeguarding practices and procedures.
• First Aid certification (or willingness to undertake training).
• Understanding of the local education system in Swindon.
• Proficiency in ICT and the use of educational technology.

• A fully enhanced DBS (or willing to process one through us)
