A welcoming primary school in Southville is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide focused 1:1 support.
This role is ideal for someone with strong SEN experience who is passionate about helping pupils access learning in a supportive, structured environment.
Role OverviewProvide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with additional learning needs.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised strategies.
Encourage engagement, confidence and emotional regulation.
Support classroom routines, transitions and small‑group work.
Candidate Profile- Previous SEN experience is essential.
- Calm, patient and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication and rapport‑building skills.
- Level 2/3 TA qualification advantageous.
- Driving licence beneficial.
- SEN training highly valued, including:
Understanding Autism, ADHD Awareness, Team Teach / De‑escalation Training, Trauma‑Informed Practice. - BSL or communication‑based training.
- Makaton (highly desirable for supporting communication needs).
- Supportive, collaborative school environment.
- Access to ongoing SEN‑focused CPD.
