Position: Year 2 Class Teacher Needed | BS31

We’re looking for passionate Key Stage 1 teachers to step into flexible Supply and PPA roles across schools in and around BS31, giving you the chance to support brilliant Year 2 classes without the full-time pressure.

No endless planning. No late-night marking marathons. No SATs paperwork taking over your evenings.

Just great teaching, lively learners, and the freedom to choose when and where you work.

Year 2 is such a special year. Confidence is building, independence is growing, and children are right on the cusp of Key Stage 2. If you love nurturing that transition, guiding pupils through phonics, early mastery in maths, and developing real writing stamina, this could be exactly what you’re looking for.

Whether you want three days a week, ad hoc supply, or regular PPA cover in local BS31 schools, we’ll work around you.

Because loving teaching shouldn’t mean sacrificing your balance.

Why Choose Protocol Education?

If you’re a Year 2 teacher who thrives in KS1, and perhaps supports children with additional needs, we’re here to make your next move feel simple and supported.

  • Flexible roles to suit your lifestyle, whether you want consistent long-term work in one Year 2 class or the variety of supply across local schools
  • Opportunities across mainstream and specialist settings in the BS31 area
  • Competitive daily pay, paid weekly, because peace of mind matters
  • A dedicated consultant who understands the pressures of KS1, SATs expectations and phonics outcomes
  • A simple, easy-to-use booking system, no unnecessary admin
  • PAYE, plus £250 for referring a teacher friend
A Bit About You

You know Year 2 is more than just SATs. It’s about building resilience, independence and confidence before children step into KS2.

  • Qualified Teacher Status, with experience in Key Stage 1
  • Confident delivering the Year 2 curriculum, including phonics and end of KS1 assessment
  • Skilled at differentiating to support a range of needs within your classroom
  • Calm, nurturing and consistent in your approach
  • Committed to creating a safe, structured and positive learning environment
