We are looking for a passionate and inspiring qualified teacher to be our Second in Science. Joining a supportive and talented team at City Academy Bristol, we are a growing organisation, looking for professional and ambitious people, with a passion for transforming our students learning. Teachers support a designated cohort of students to make progress in their learning, engagement, core literacy, language and numeracy skills, and social development.
This is achieved through taking responsibility for the learning of students – planning, delivering, facilitating and assessing their learning whilst showing ambition to develop as an outstanding teacher and leader. They will plan and deliver sessions and interventions, and provide a point of accountability, co-ordination and liaison for the students in their attendance, for their families and for professionals working with them.
They will work towards typically good and outstanding lessons that achieve good student progress over time. This will be actioned by taking an active role in supporting City Academys high expectations of student behaviour and attitudes towards learning.
The Second in faculty is responsible for supporting the Head of Faculty in developing and implementing an exciting curriculum, and monitoring and evaluating the quality of teaching leading to improving outcomes. The post holder will deliver strong lessons modelling excellence to all.
About You- a qualified teacher or hold an equivalent teaching qualification.
- able to deliver the curriculum in your chosen area and consistently teach high quality lessons across relevant key stages.
- able to meet the needs of learners from key identified groups, including pupil premium, looked after children, SEND and High Attaining students.
- a strong communicator with the ability to embrace change, motivate colleagues and build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
- able to recognise, value and support the delivery of opportunities which extend beyond the confines of classroom delivery and seek to enrich and add value to the students experience & learning.
- empowered to develop your own expert practice and support the development of others.
- highly competent in all elements of the Teachers Standards and your achievements and contribution will be substantial and sustained as an Upper Pay Scale teacher.
