An exciting opportunity has arisen for a strong candidate to support teaching and learning at Oakfield Academy in Frome. This role is varied and we are looking for an adaptable, flexible and resourceful individual able to cope in a high-pressure environment and deal with constantly changing priorities.

This post is for 27 hours per week from Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.25am - 4.00pm term time only plus 2x INSET days. The salary will start on MNSP Pay Grade 2 Point 4 with an incremental rise to Point 5 (25185 - 25583 FTE gross per annum/13.05 - 13.26 per hour). The actual salary for this post equates to 15578 - 15824 per annum/1298 - 1318 per month (gross).

Job Requirements
  • Maintaining a safe and positive environment for all learners.
  • Creating opportunities for all learners to reach their potential irrespective of ability.
  • Working with a wide range of class teachers to deliver excellent teaching and learning.
  • Supporting pupils within a wide range of interventions from Literacy and Numeracy programmes to Forest School.
  • Supporting children on a 1:1 or group basis.
  • Supporting assessment and evidencing learning.
  • Working with the teacher to create stimulating learning resources.
  • Accompanying pupils on trips.

The Right Candidate Will Have
  • GCSE English and Maths at grade C (4) or above.
  • A proven ability to work using their own initiative under the guidance of a teacher.
  • A high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults.
  • The ability to use relevant technology/equipment.
  • A can‑do attitude.
  • A commitment to the happiness, well‑being, self‑esteem and progress of everyone at the school.

This role will require an enhanced DBS with a clear outcome; you will also need to have right to work in the UK documentation.
