We are looking for a Teacher of Humanities. This is an exciting opportunity to join Blaise High School and become an integral member of the Humanities team.
The Humanities team embodies our values and ethos, ensuring teaching and learning practices are research‑led, providing engaging content through explicit instruction, and ensuring students make progress through a coherent curriculum increasingly delivered via booklets.
The school teaches History, Geography and Religious Studies to students throughout KS3 and KS4. The successful candidate will have specific expertise in at least one of these areas, with the willingness to teach across multiple of them.

Main Responsibilities- Teach consistently high‑quality lessons
- Intellectually prepare for the delivery of shared lesson resources
- Act as a role model, inspiring students to be actively interested in the subject
- Maintain up‑to‑date expert subject knowledge
- Ensure effective deployment of classroom support
- Manage behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policy
- Lead, monitor and evaluate assessment and feedback to students in line with whole‑school and department policy
- Follow department monitoring and tracking systems relating to students’ attainment, progress and achievement
- Mark, grade and give written, verbal and diagnostic feedback as required
- Undertake assessment of students as requested by external examination bodies, curriculum areas and school procedures
- Assess, record and report on the attendance, progress, development and attainment of students, keeping required records
- Update professional knowledge and expertise to keep up with developments in teaching practice and methodology
- Engage with the school’s rank‑order assessment process
- Prioritise and manage time effectively, ensuring continued professional development in line with the role
