Overview
St Michael’s is looking to appoint an exceptional Teaching Assistant to work as part of our Early Years Foundation Stage Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with our reception class teachers to provide the best education for our pupils. You will need excellent communication skills and the ability to nurture and develop positive relationships with our children.
ResponsibilitiesOur children learn through exploration and discovery. We aim to inspire curiosity and develop confidence, which is fundamental to our provision in the Early Years. A stimulating environment encourages learning through play. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the characteristics of effective learning and the EYFS curriculum and will be able to interact with children’s play, use effective questioning to help them make the next steps in their learning, and advance children’s learning at every opportunity.
You will also run phonics and maths groups and interventions to ensure our children receive the best start in their educational journey.
Experience with Tapestry (or other online learning journals) and Speech and Language programmes would be desirable.
Working HoursThe role is 28.75 hours a week. We will need someone from 08:40am to 03:25pm, which gives you 1 hour for lunch.
