Work with children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs to help them learn, develop their abilities and raise their self‑esteem. You will be resilient and dedicated, supported by in‑house psychologists, teaching assistants and therapy professionals. The school provides a well‑resourced environment and excellent support to help you build a rewarding teaching career.
OverviewThe new Castle fell School is a purpose‑built, state‑of‑the‑art facility catering primarily for children with S.E.M.H. needs and also for children with autism who have moderate learning needs. The school provides education for up to 50 children aged 8 to 16.
Responsibilities- Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons for children with SEND aged 8‑16.
- Support the learning and personal development of pupils with autism, S.E.M.H. and moderate learning needs.
- Collaborate with a team of teachers, teaching assistants, psychologists and therapists to plan and implement individualised learning plans.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback to parents and the wider team.
- Maintain a safe, positive and supportive classroom environment.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Previous teaching experience, preferably working with SEND students.
- A genuine passion for teaching and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils.
- Strong organisational skills and a ‘can‑do’ attitude.
