Class Teacher (Music) / Visiting Specialist of Music - Part-time (working Wednesdays, although this can be changed by mutual agreement)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Class Teacher who can deliver music lessons or a Music Specialist with a passion for teaching primary aged pupils music to join our team on a part-time basis, one day per week. The successful candidate will ideally have experience across a range of stages.

Job DetailsClass Teacher (Music)
Teach assigned classes together with associated preparation and correction.
Develop the school curriculum.
Assess, record and report on the work of pupils.
Prepare pupils for examinations and assist with their administration.
Provide advice and guidance to pupils on issues related to their education.
Promote and safeguard the health, welfare and safety of pupils.
Work in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals.
Undertake appropriate and agreed Career Long Professional Development (CLPL).
Participate in issues related to school planning, raising achievement and individual review.
Contribute towards good order and the wider needs of the school.
Visiting Specialist of Music
To teach a designated subject (Music/Physical Education/Art or Modern Languages) in line
with Curriculum for Excellence.
Teach assigned classes in line with Curriculum for Excellence.
Prepare lessons and courses.
Undertake development of the curriculum.
Contribute to the assessment and reporting on the work of pupils.
Contribute to the professional development of colleagues.
Consult with and assist colleagues on subject specific education issues.
Participate in the organisation of the school to contribute to the school development
Plan and school policies as considered appropriate by the Head Teacher.
Maintain good order and discipline among pupils and to safeguard their health and safety.
Advise and guide pupils on issues related to their education.
Work co-operatively as part of a team.

- Appropriate primary qualification
- Permanent Posts: GTCS Full registration (General)
- Temporary Posts: GTCS Full registration (General) / Provisional registration
Visiting Specialist of Music
- GTCS registration in subject advertised (Music/Physical Education/Art or Modern Languages) or GTCS registered Primary Teacher with a degree in that subject.
PVG Membership
This post is considered as a Regulated Role with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020.
This post requires PVG Scheme membership or update prior to formal offer.
