Applications

Applications are warmly invited for a full time fixed term fellowship attached to the Glaucoma service commencing on 5th August 2025.

Qualifications & Experience

Candidates are expected to have extensive cataract surgical experience and be able to routinely perform phacoemulsification surgery unsupervised, as well as experience managing glaucoma cases. Applicants should be at Specialist Registrar/Trainee grade or equivalent and should have completed their higher surgical training in ophthalmology or be close to doing so. The successful candidates will be required to be registered with the General Medical Council with a License to Practice.

BEH is a highly regarded Regional Centre for Ophthalmology within the Division of Surgery at UHBW, recently rated Good by the CQC. The tertiary referral glaucoma service provides opportunities to work in complex clinics with supervision and to collaborate with an experienced specialty optometry team. Theatre time is dedicated and will be supervised.
