Matchroom Media produces world-class live sports coverage across multiple properties including darts, snooker, pool and emerging global events. The Junior Graphics Engineer supports the design, preparation and live delivery of broadcast graphics across these productions.

This role sits between engineering and creative. It requires technical understanding of broadcast systems alongside an eye for design, timing and storytelling. The successful candidate will help ensure all on-screen graphics are accurate, consistent with brand guidelines, and delivered flawlessly in live environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in building and maintaining graphics packages for multiple sports (score straps, lower thirds, full-screen templates - match and presentation elements)
  • Work from client or internal After Effects packages to prepare assets for playout systems.
  • Prepare data-driven graphics templates for use with scoring systems (e.g. darts, snooker, nineball pool).
  • Ensure consistency with Matchroom and client brand guidelines across all outputs.
  • Test all graphics workflows prior to events including failover scenarios.
Live Production
  • Operate graphics playout systems during live broadcasts and streams.
  • Accurately update scores, player information, statistics and sponsor elements in real time.
  • Liaise with producers, directors and commentators to ensure correct timing and editorial accuracy.
  • React quickly to last-minute changes in live environments while maintaining broadcast standards.
  • Assist with setup, configuration and maintenance of graphics systems within Matchroom flypacks and production units.
  • Support integration with vision mixers, replay systems and data feeds.
  • Troubleshoot graphics and data issues on site and escale where necessary.
  • Help maintain internal SOPs for graphics workflows and system setups.
  • Contribute ideas to improve graphics presentation and workflow efficiency.
  • Assist in testing and implementing new graphics software or control systems.
Skills & Experience
  • Basic understanding of live broadcast production workflows.
  • Experience with graphics tools such as Adobe After Effects and Photoshop.
  • Good technical awareness of video formats, resolutions and signal flow.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy under pressure.
  • Ability to work calmly in fast-paced live environments.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work within a production team.
  • Experience with live graphics engines (e.g. vMix, Ross XPression, Vizrt).
  • Understanding of sports scoring systems and data feeds.
  • Basic networking knowledge (IP workflows, NDI, etc.).
  • Experience working on live sport or live event production.
  • Interest in automation or control systems.
Personal Attributes
  • Highly organised and proactive
  • Technically minded with a willingness to learn
  • Calm and reliable under pressure
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude
  • Flexible with working hours including evenings and weekends

  • Graphics Operator / Senior Graphics Engineer
  • Technical Producer
  • Graphics Systems Developer
Additional Requirements
