Job Overview
The Children's Residential Support Worker role in Bristol involves working in a fast-paced residential setting that specialises in caring for young people with EBD. This position requires a motivated individual who can support young people’s social, emotional, and behavioural development in a safe and nurturing environment. The role offers a competitive salary up to £35,000, with full-time, permanent hours and a shift pattern of 2 days on and 4 days off.

Key Responsibilities
Supporting the management team to run shifts effectively and leading by example in a challenging environment. Mentoring newer staff members to maintain high standards of care. Encouraging young people to participate in activities that promote independence and personal responsibility. Maintaining a homely and friendly atmosphere within the home. Safeguarding young people from risks to their health and wellbeing. Developing positive relationships with children and young people, understanding their individual care plans, and supporting their unique needs.

Assisting young people in managing challenging behaviours safely and sympathetically. Promoting independence while ensuring a secure environment. Working closely with multidisciplinary professionals such as social workers, psychologists, and families to deliver person-centred care.
Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant will have previous experience working in a children’s support or youth care setting. A Level 3 NVQ in Children and Young People or equivalent qualification is highly desirable. The candidate must possess good communication skills, resilience, and the ability to adapt to ever-changing circumstances. A full driver’s licence is essential due to the nature of the role and the requirements to support young people's activities and appointments.

* Experience as a Children's Support Worker or within a youth support setting is preferred.

* Full UK driver’s licence is essential.
