We are currently recruiting for an Operational Governance Analyst to join the Strategic Delivery team within Secured Lender Services in our Bristol office.

Your Role

The Operational Governance Analyst will support the Senior Operational Governance and Continuous Improvement Manager in managing operational risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and implementing governance frameworks. The successful candidate will assist in incident management, processing Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), and maintaining risk registers.

Responsibilities Operational

Risk Management:

  • Assist in identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks within secured lending services.
  • Support the enhancement of risk management frameworks and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Help conduct risk assessments to identify potential operational risks within mortgage repossession and conveyancing processes.
  • Maintain risk registers, ensuring all identified risks are documented and regularly reviewed.
Risk Mitigation:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the development and execution of action plans for risk mitigation.
Governance and Controls:
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining governance structures and control frameworks to ensure operational integrity and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Help develop and maintain governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to support mortgage repossession and conveyancing operations.
Incident Management:
  • Support the management and response to operational incidents, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
  • Assist in developing incident management protocols and procedures to minimize impact and prevent recurrence.
Root Cause Analysis, Themes, and Trends:
  • Conduct root cause analysis of operational incidents to identify underlying issues.
  • Identify and analyse themes and trends from incident data to inform risk management strategies.
  • Support the development and implementation of corrective actions based on root cause analysis findings to prevent recurrence.
Processing of DSAR:
  • Help handle and process Data Subject Access Requests in compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely responses to DSARs, maintaining confidentiality and data integrity.
Reporting and Communication:
  • Assist in preparing and presenting regular risk reports to the secured lending services management team, risk and compliance, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Communicate risk-related issues and recommendations to key stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
Training and Development:
  • Provide support in training and guidance to staff on risk management, governance best practices, incident management, and DSAR processing.
  • Foster a culture of risk awareness and compliance within the operations.
Your Skills and Experience
  • Basic knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to mortgage repossession and conveyancing.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Familiarity with risk assessment and management tools.
  • Ability to support the development and implementation of governance frameworks.
  • Basic project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy is needed.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
