Interim Deputy​/Chief Accountant

Job Opportunity! - Interim Chief/Deputy Chief Accountant - Fully Remote - 2 Year Contract!

I am reaching out as a local authority client of mine are currently on the lookout for a Chief/Deputy Chief Accountant to join their team on a contract that will run for 2 years in.

• Contract Duration: 24 months.
• Rate: £500-£550 per day
• IR35:

  ASAP

• Contribute on closing down the 25/26 accounts for the council.
• Ensure that the council delivers outturn reporting and produces a draft 25/26 statement of accounts by the statutory deadline.
• Deliver high quality working papers and supporting evident as a contribution to ensure an effective audit process.
• Will assist with budget monitoring and business partnering.
• Will assist with budget setting and MTFS.
• Will assist with returns, RA, quarterly returns etc.
• Will assist with reviewing business cases, financial reporting etc.
• This will purely be a hands on technical role, rather than having any managerial responsibilities.
• You will not necessarily need to cover all of the above as they will play to your strengths.

• Must have specific local authority experience with a proven track record of closing down the statement of accounts.
• Must have a current grasp of the accounting code of practice.
• Must be a fully qualified accountant.
