Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 (IV Compounding) 2nd (Evening) Shift
The Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 (IV Compounding) will be responsible for maintaining all unit-dose medications required for daily dispensing from the Omnicell automated IV equipment. The technician will prepare and maintain the Omnicell IV automated equipment for daily use, perform advanced equipment troubleshooting, maintain optimal medication inventory levels, and review/maintain reports. The technician will engage with various levels of customer service by identifying and addressing any customer concerns and report to the Pharmacy Services Manager.
Responsibilities- Perform IV automation tasks in an aseptic, error‑free manner, consistent with prescribed guidelines.
- Perform IV automation equipment cleaning and maintenance.
- Follow Safe Handling of Hazardous Drugs procedures when handling medications.
- Identify/ordering medications to ensure inventory levels are optimal.
- Monitor and order consumable supplies required for the operation of the equipment.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and prescribed maintenance of IV automation equipment and report unresolved issues to the IV HD.
- Maintain high‑level communication with the pharmacy services manager and customers to ensure proactive, solution‑oriented problem identification and resolution.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by aligning the Pharmacy Services Program to provide customer‑focused support emphasizing quality, professionalism, and responsiveness, acting as liaison between OMCL and customers to assist with concerns.
- Comply with IV Compounding procedures, policies, and guidelines established by the Customer facility.
- Complete negative fingertip and media fill sampling.
- Maintain state and/or national credentialing to meet established guidelines.
- Good organizational skills: accurate, reliable, and efficient.
- Demonstrated customer‑facing skills.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work with mechanical equipment.
- Working knowledge of computer hardware and PC Windows.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Active National Pharmacy Technician Certificate (PTCB/NHA-CPhT or EXCPT).
- Active State Board of Pharmacy Technician License/Registration with the State of TN (if required).
- Some working knowledge of/familiarity with IV compounding preferred (minimum 1 or more years of IV Compounding strongly preferred).
- COV‑19 vaccination.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills with automation devices.
- SME for Pharmacy Services department.
- 2+ years of IV Compounding experience.
- Hospital / Inpatient Pharmacy Technician experience.
- Knowledge of safe handling of hazardous medications.
- Proficient in the use of PPE and hand hygiene techniques.
- Working knowledge of sterile environment requirements.
- Working knowledge of pharmacy automation.

Must be able to commute to work at 1 Medical Park Blvd., Bristol, TN 37620. - Shift(s):
Able to work 2nd/evening shift (M‑F, typical M‑THUR, 3 pm to 1:30 am). - Hospital Pharmacy Environment.
- Capable of standing for several hours at a time.
- Potential exposure to hazardous drugs.
- Must be able to travel.
- Able to lift 25–30 lbs.
Base compensation:
For the State of TN, the hourly rate is $25+/ per hour range. Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as location, education, experience, and skillset.
