Medical Physicist (Bristol, TN) –
Siemens Healthineers
We are seeking a full‑time, onsite Medical Physicist to join our team in Bristol, TN. The role involves ensuring high‑quality radiation therapy, developing physics protocols, and supporting the department’s safety and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities- Calibration of dose meters, radiation equipment, and quality‑assurance (QA) checks.
- Beam data acquisition for treatment planning.
- Preparation and maintenance of data for treatment‑planning systems.
- Development and improvement of dose‑measurement systems, protocols, and supporting software.
- Compliance with federal, state, and organizational radiation‑safety regulations.
- Participation in performance‑improvement activities, policy creation, and procedural standardization.
- Acceptance testing and commissioning of new machines, including re‑commissioning after major maintenance.
- Individual treatment planning, dosimetry calculations, and physics‑component reviews.
- Physics consultation to radiation oncology personnel and oncologists on patient‑care decisions.
- Routine verification of the department treatment‑planning system.
- Collaboration with information‑services on software management of the planning system.
- Planning and shielding calculations for new radiation facilities and programs.
- Documentation of regulatory changes for departmental integration.
- Dosimetry checks following source changes.
- Selection and acquisition of sources for permanent‑implant techniques.
- Participation in clinical education, training, and competency evaluations with the department and physics director. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, M.S., or Ph.D. in Medical Physics or a closely related field (preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of clinical experience plus a CAMPEP‑accredited residency.
- Experience with HDR and SRS programs.
- Computer‑system administration experience with patient‑record and verify database applications.
- Certification by the American Board of Radiology (A ) or equivalent; non‑certified candidates must be eligible and achieve certification within 3 years.
- Active state licensing or registration required for the medical‑physicist role.
- Willingness to relocate to Bristol, TN, or surrounding areas.

Base Pay: $168,470 – $231,649 (dependent on geography and experience).
