The Roger Williams University Department of Biology, Marine Biology & Environmental Science welcomes applications for a Lecturer Position in Human Anatomy & Physiology. The candidate selected for this position will focus on Human Anatomy & Physiology education and will enhance course offerings that prepare students for careers in biology, pre-professional health sciences, forensic science and public health.
Responsibilities- Teach Human Anatomy & Physiology at the undergraduate level, including lecture and laboratory sections.
- Assist with curriculum development, revision, implementation and evaluation of laboratory learning outcomes.
- Possess demonstrated effectiveness in the teaching laboratory environment and contribute to the development of courses in related areas (e.g., Introductory Biology, Human Nutrition, Exercise Science and/or General Science Education).
- Provide academic advising to a cohort of departmental advisees.
- Engage in service to the department and university as appropriate.
- Master’s or other advanced degree in Biology or a related discipline.
- Undergraduate teaching experience in Human Anatomy & Physiology lecture and laboratory, and other courses serving biology and/or pre-health professions (e.g., Nutrition, Exercise Science, Freshman Biology).
- Relevant industry, research or work experience in the health sciences.
- Substantive experience with laboratory curriculum development, implementation and revision.
- Experience coordinating laboratory instruction among adjunct and full-time instructors.
- Training in innovative pedagogy to increase student engagement in science from diverse populations.
