Salary: £55,919 plus company pension scheme, 22.5 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
Attendance: 13:45 – 22:15 Monday to Friday.
AboutThe Role
The Maintenance Team Leader reports directly to the Operational Shift Manager and provides technical leadership and support for engineering automation issues within the Mail Centre. While no direct line management is involved, the role ensures all maintenance is completed to defined standards and delivered cost‑effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate the implementation of maintenance techniques to uphold asset performance and availability design criteria.
- Provide technical training, coaching and development to the engineering maintenance team.
- Assist in the risk assessment process for automation equipment and Engineering Safe Systems of Work; deliver modifications and ensure configuration status is current.
- Develop the engineering team through performance reviews and regular development meetings.
- Offer technical direction in line with Business Values and standards, explaining as necessary.
- Challenge unacceptable behaviour, bullying and harassment within the engineering community.
You should possess the skills and experience listed below.
- Extensive background in automation engineering and maintenance.
- Holding an Engineering qualification / Electrical qualification to HCN level or equivalent.
- Completed Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Comfortable providing technical leadership, guidance and support to a large team.
- Able to offer technical direction to senior stakeholders in the wider business.
- Willing to complete an ILM coaching course while in the role.
