Basic Function and Responsibility:
To recognize, evaluate, screen and treat orthopedic and sport disabilities and injuries; to provide emergency medical care, and to develop or restore function through therapeutic treatments as prescribed or directed by a physician.
We are currently seeking a licensed Athletic Trainer to join our interdisciplinary Med Sport Sports Medicine team. This position will support duties as assigned within our athletic training service agreements and will provide direct patient care at one of our Med Sport Physical Therapy Clinics. The athletic trainer will be responsible for daily practice and event coverage which will include late evenings and weekends as needed.
Physical Requirement: This position requires extensive standing/walking, as well as lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring of patients.

- Deliver direct patient care with a team approach in conjunction with a physician, physical therapist, athletic trainer, and assistive personnel.
- Apply strapping, bandaging, or bracing designed to prevent or protect athletes against injury.
- Administer therapeutic techniques and modalities such as ultrasound, electrostimulation, hydrotherapy, cryotherapy, as well as active, passive, and assistive exercises.
- Perform preliminary evaluations, screen injuries, and refer individuals to physicians.
- Assist in the development of rehabilitation programs independently or with other allied health care clinicians.
- Administer first aid to injured athletes.
- Assist in the development of conditioning programs.
- Assist in the training/education of students who are in the athletic training fellowship/internship program.
- Process patient care orders using the electronic ordering system may be required in certain areas.
