Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of clinical experience to join our multidisciplinary medical unit team. In this role, you'll provide high-quality, patient-centered care to medically complex pediatric patients, collaborating closely with physicians, rehabilitation therapists, respiratory therapists, social workers, and other care professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to pediatric patients recovering from acute illness, trauma, or chronic conditions.
- Collaborate with respiratory therapy to care for medically complex children with tracheostomies
- Perform comprehensive assessments and implement individualized care plans.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments in accordance with clinical protocols.
- Monitor patient status, identify changes in condition, and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team.
- Educate and support families on care needs, discharge planning, and follow-up resources.
- Uphold hospital standards for safety, documentation, and quality improvement practices.
- Registered Nurse (RN) with current Massachusetts licensure.
- 2+ years of nursing experience
, preferably in pediatric care, medical-surgical, or acute rehabilitation settings. - Strong clinical judgment and ability to handle complex medical needs.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-family advocacy skills.
- Commitment to compassionate, family-focused care in line with Franciscan Children's mission.
- Pediatric clinical experience.
- Experience with complex care, ventilator support, and interdisciplinary care coordination.
- BLS/ACLS/PALS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
