Cardiac Medical Assistant

Overview

A Medical Assistant is accountable for providing care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting. This role involves caring for patients with acute and chronic needs and communicating clearly with patients through telephone and in-person interactions.

• Providing patient care under the direction of the clinician, assisting the provider to gather information relavant to the patient’s visit and condition.
• Effective communication with patients via multiple modalities including telephone and in-person interactions.
• Team collaboration with cross-functional teams to support patient care, with attention to detail and follow-through.

• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program or one year of Medical Assistant experience, or current RN/LPN license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers (must be obtained prior to start date).
• Demonstrated basic computer skills (word processing and data entry).
• Professional manner with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and caregivers to deliver high levels of customer/patient satisfaction.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and PHI.

• Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting.
• Computer literacy with electronic medical records (EMR) and related software.
• Current national MA certification from one of the following: RMA (AMT), NCMA, CCMA, CMA (AAMA).

Hours:

40. The hourly range for this position is $20.67 - $30.78, depending on experience.
