The primary responsibilities of this position are processing titles, vehicle registrations, and other related tasks for the general public in person, over the phone, and via email.
- Process title applications and issue motor vehicle registrations per statute, rules, and policies while utilizing resources.
- Understand the calculation of taxes/fees and be able to explain them.
- Adheres to State/County policies and procedures.
- Communicates clearly and concisely with both internal and external partners.
- Performs VIN Inspections in the designated parking area.
- You may be required to commute and work at any Adams County Clerk and Recorder location.
- Works occasional overtime, including evenings and weekends.
- Issue marriage licenses and perform Oath of Honesty.
- Occasionally assists Elections and Recording departments.
- Cash Handling.
- Knowledge of applicable taxes, percentages due, when they are due and exceptions.
- Knowledge of additional documentation that may be required such as emissions, insurance requirements, handicap authorizations etc.
- Ability to accurately cashier transactions and reconcile cash drawer daily.
- Ability to work with customers to resolve problems. Refers complex problems that cannot be resolved to their leadership team.
- Knowledge of data entry procedures, typing ability, basic math skill and grammar etiquette.
- Knowledge of interpersonal communication skills and ability to establish effective working relationships with County staff, officials and the general public.
- Knowledge or ability to learn locator processes
- Knowledge of Motor Vehicle systems and processes.
- Ability to use references and research material independently.
- Ability to multi-task and work efficiently
- Ability to work extended hours as needed.
- Ability to calmly and professionally deal with the general public in person and on the telephone.
- Knowledge of local office procedures and policies, knowledge of office functions, provide customer assistance, able to answer customer questions, be familiar with local government organization, Adams County office locations and other surrounding Counties.
- Ability to perform essential functions of the position.
- Ability to learn Clerk and Recorder's policies and procedures.
- Acknowledge and adhere to the Adams County Norms and Values.
- Ability to learn Colorado State Statutes, rules, and regulations that apply to motor vehicle.
- Ability to work with other government offices, entities, banks and financial institutions.
- Ability to stoop, stand, sit for extended periods, reach overhead, push, pull or handle objects weighing a minimum of 25 pounds.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of interpersonal communication skills and ability to establish effective harmonious working relationships with other County staff, officials, the general public, other governmental agencies and entities.
- Work is conducted in an office environment. Work atmosphere may be noisy and hectic due to contact with general public in person and on the telephone.
- Ability to multi-task and work efficiently.

- Ability to work at various branch offices per the County's needs.

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
- Education and Training
- Must be able to read and write at a high school level.
- Experience
- One year of Customer Service experience is required.
- License or Certificate
- Ability to become deputized.
- Reliable transportation is required to get to different motor vehicle branches as needed.
