CCTV Operator – 34.1 hours per week

£24,333 – £25,936 per annum plus 20% shift allowance (Salary Pro‑rata based on 37 hours per week).

• Monitor and operate approximately 400 CCTV cameras to provide coverage throughout the community.
• Demonstrate high levels of professionalism while handling sensitive, pressured and stressful situations, maintaining confidentiality of data.
• Use radios and other associated equipment within the CCTV Control Room (e.g., Police Airwave, remote emergency call monitoring equipment, alarms and communication facilities).
• Work with MDC Community Protection partners, including the police, to record and immediately report incidents to the Nottinghamshire Police Incident Control Room via dedicated technical links.
• Write incident reports, generate database entries in the Video Management System, provide evidential statements to support legal proceedings, and give witness evidence at court when required.
• Maintain flexibility within the team to cover a rota that includes 8‑hour shifts (Mornings, Days, Afternoons, Evenings, Late’s, and Night shifts) spanning the 24‑hour period throughout the year.

• Valid SIA Public Space Surveillance licence, or willingness to obtain the licence within 3 months of employment.
• Previous experience, SIA public space surveillance training, and local area knowledge are preferential, though full training will be provided for suitable candidates.
