Production Team Leader

Rotating Shifts (6‑2 / 2‑10) – 20% shift allowance on lates.

Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and motivated Production Team Leader to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, encourage and motivate team members according toชมป์ specifications, procedures and quality standards.
  • Provide leadership and supervision for staff development through training, mentoring and regular one‑to‑one meetings and appraisals.
  • Maintain high quality standards and ensure products are manufactured to meet customer delivery dates.
  • Work to the production plan to achieve a target of 95% on‑time commitment.
  • Passively lead our #1 priority: health, well‑being and safety of our colleagues, contributing to a strong safety culture.
  • Respond quickly to quality issues, process problems, labour shortages and machine breakdowns, taking appropriate action.
  • Support and promote 6S activities within the workshop.
  • Conduct shift start‑up and shift end meetings.
  • Implement countermeasures for non‑conformance.
  • Provide training and mentoring for operators and apprentices.
  • Manage unplanned absence, lateness, track attendance, conduct return‑to‑work meetings and raise issues to the Department Leader.
  • Address discipline issues in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Proactively address performance concerns and conduct issues, escalating to the Department Leader and HR when necessary.
  • Conduct performance reviews in line with the company annual performance review process.
  • Hold regular 1‑2‑1 meetings with team members.
  • Maintain positive and productive relationships within the department and with suppliers and customers.
  • Show trust in others and empower opportunities.
  • Respectfully challenge when disagreements arise and listen to others’ views.
Who You’ll Be Working With
  • You will work with a team of 9 production operatives.
  • You will attend twice weekly production meetings with internal stakeholders.
  • You will report to the department head or operations manager.
Skills & Experience
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing experience, ideally white belt or above.
  • Experience working within NEBOSH, COSHH or IOSH environments.
  • Experience in 5S or 6S processes.
  • Ability to investigate non‑conformance and assist in root‑cause analysis.
  • Experience leading and managing people.
  • Resilience and the ability to work in a high‑pressure environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across a diverse group of people.
  • Highly motivated with a focus on solutions.
  • IT skills – Excel and Word programmes.
Permanent Position Details

Week 1: 6 am – 2 pm Monday to Thursday, 6 am – 11:30 am Friday.
Week 2: 2 pm – 10 pm Monday to Thursday, 11:30 am – 5 pm Friday.

Salary: £33,000 plus 20% shift allowance when working the late shift.
