This role aims to give learners insight into the running of our libraries, develop new skills, increase confidence and support future career decisions. You will engage with customers and support enquiries ranging from locating stock to accessing the internet. Opportunities include planning and running events such as craft and Lego activities, and creating content for social media.

Students in years 10-13.

• Provide a friendly welcome to all customers using the library.
• Help library users access and use stock, information, computers, and other services.
• Support customers using the Customer Self Service machines.
• Assist with stocking displays and shelving.
• Assist with events and activities within the library.
• Promote library services to customers.

• Enjoy working with others as part of a team.
• Enthusiastic and motivated to support the community.
• Willing to develop and learn new skills.
• Willing to listen and engage with people.

Location: Bridport library, South Street, Bridport, DT6 3NY

• Monday 10:00 – 16:00
• Tuesday 10:00 – 16:00
• Wednesday 10:00 – 16:00
• Thursday 10:00 – 16:00
• Friday 10:00 – 16:00

Travel: Transport to and from the placement to be arranged by the student.

Meals/breaks: 1 hour lunch (packed lunch or local option).

Clothing: Smart/casual suitable for a library environment.
