Senior Project Manager

Join BAM UK & Ireland as a Senior Project Manager to lead a major energy project at Hinkley Point C, delivering reinforced concrete, bulk earthworks and infrastructure on one of the UK’s largest projects.

With the growing workload on the South West site, we need a Senior Project Manager to join our dynamic fast‑paced team. You will be responsible for managing all project areas, ensuring successful outcomes, maintaining high standards of professionalism, safety, quality and cost control, and building strong relationships with clients, sub‑contractors and the wider community.

• Leadership, management and oversight of all project areas, delivering successful outcomes in all domains.
• Professional communication with all project stakeholders and the wider community.
• Provide operational, strategic and contractual direction for the entire project team.
• Champion health, safety, quality and environmental (HSQE) initiatives, leading safety tours and promoting HSQE across the organisation.
• Maintain high environmental awareness and behaviour standards.
• Drive quality delivery through effective planning and right‑first‑time delivery.
• Mentor and develop key staff towards their next career level.
• Lead the project team, ensuring high levels of commitment, morale and motivation.
• Adopt, maintain and promote cost‑conscious management through efficient resource use.
• Maintain a strong working relationship with the client and supply chain.
• Promote repeat business by maintaining personal contact with key clients and stakeholders.
• Establish, maintain and monitor a programme‑based cost management system with reliable QF preparation and reporting.
• Ensure realistic programmes are prepared, managed, monitored, reviewed and updated as required.
• Ensure proper preparation, review and briefing of method statements, activity plans and risk assessments.
• Support the commercial and financial management of the project.
• Ensure all necessary site‑based appointments are made with suitably trained and experienced staff.

• Degree, HND or equivalent in Engineering.
• Experience as PM or Senior Agent within civil engineering contracting.
• Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities at a senior level.
• Detailed working knowledge of the civil construction environment and related contracts.
• Experience of working in construction project delivery.
