This position provides a welcoming and inclusive environment by providing customer service to a diverse campus community of employees and students. Working with diverse students, parents, faculty, staff, and other involved parties by providing the highest level of student‑facing front‑line customer service. We dedicate each day to student success and retention, as well as equity, diversity, and inclusion. This is a full‑time, 12‑month AFSCME position.
Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Sunday & Monday as days off).
Location:
Campus wide. This is an essential position.
Electrical repairs and PM inside and outside. Test, repair, install and/or maintain various types of electrical equipment. Performs related duties as required. Writes & reviews technical specifications for equipment and project by college and outside contractors. Participates in on‑call rotation and detail.
Essential Duties- Maintains, repairs, installs, and troubleshoots equipment.
- Supervises work performed by external vendors/contractors.
- May write specifications for and estimate the costs of repairs, remodeling, or alterations.
- Acts as a liaison to University staff, external personnel vendors, and contractors engaged in activities related to building.
- Performs related duties such as requisitioning supplies and equipment.
- Maintains paper and electronic records and prepares reports.
- Submits personal time and attendance paper and ensures minimum staffing.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of control systems.
- Maintains inventory levels.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of electronic work order system and PM systems.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Must possess a current and valid Massachusetts Driver’s License.
- 1. Massachusetts State Journeyman or Master License.
- 2. Knowledge of state and local electrical codes.
- 3. Knowledge of the principles and theory of electricity.
- 4. Knowledge of basic algebra.
- 5. Knowledge of basic arithmetic.
- 6. Knowledge of the types and uses of small hand tools used in electrical practice such as pliers, screwdrivers, etc.
- 7. Knowledge of the types and uses of equipment including testing equipment used in electrical work.
- 8. Knowledge of safety practices and precautions observed in the electrical trade.
- 9. Knowledge of inspection techniques used in the electrical trade.
- 10. Knowledge of the types and uses of hand‑held power tools such as drills, etc.
- 11. Skill in using small hand tools such as pliers, screwdrivers, etc.
- 12. Skill in the use of precision measuring equipment, gauges and instrumentation used in electrical work.
- 13. Skill in using hand‑held power tools such as drills.
- 14. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
- 15. Ability to understand, explain and apply the laws, rules and regulations governing assigned unit activities.
- 16. Ability to lead a group of workers.
- 17. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- 18. Ability to interpret and apply laws, rules and regulations concerning electrical practice.
- 19. Ability to write clearly and concisely.
- 20. Ability to maintain accurate records.
- 21. Ability to prepare and use charts, graphs and tables.
