Validation Lead- Windchill

SUMMARY

Lead test strategy, planning, execution, and sign-off for the integration of Windchill PLM into SAP S/4

HANA in a manufacturing environment. Own end-to-end verification of data, interfaces, functional flows, performance, cutover dress rehearsal, and oversee secure, accurate, and timely migration of product and manufacturing data.

• Define and own the overall test strategy, scope, entry/exit criteria, and schedule for component, integration, system, performance, regression, UAT, and cutover testing.
• Create, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, and traceability matrices covering Part Master, EBOM/MBOM, ECOS, document/CAD links, routings, statuses, and downstream impacts (MES/MWS/EDI).
• Lead cross-functional test execution with PLM SMEs, SAP functional teams (MM/PP/QM), middleware/integration engineers, business SMEs, and operations.
• Design and run reconciliation tests (automated where possible) to validate data integrity between Windchill and S/4
  
  HANA (counts, checksums, key field comparisons).
• Plan and lead dress rehearsals/full cutover dry runs, capture gaps, and execute corrective actions; ensure smooth production cutover with hypercare support.
• Chair defect triage meetings; prioritize defects by business impact and risk; ensure timely resolution and retesting.
• Author and drive test artifacts, run books, smoke test scripts, and evidence to support audit/compliance.
• Produce clear, timely status reporting for KPIs (defect trends, risks, readiness) and executive stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of PLM concepts (Part Masters, EBOM/MBOM, revisions, ECO/CO, CAD/document linking) and SAP processes in MM, PP, and basic QM/PLM integration points.
• Hands-on experience with integration technologies: tools/APIs, OData, REST/SOAP, middleware platforms (SAP PI/PO, SAP Cloud Platform Integration, Mule Soft, Dell Boomi, or equivalent).
• Strong data testing and reconciliation skills: SQL, data comparison techniques, checksums, and scripting for bulk validation (Python, Shell, or similar).
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (Jira, Test Rail, HP ALM, or similar).
• Experience designing and executing performance/volume tests (JMeter or similar) and knowledge of monitoring/log capture under load.

• 5+ years of software testing experience with at least 2 years focused on PLM ↔ ERP integrations in manufacturing (Windchill and SAP S/4
  
  HANA exposure strongly preferred).
• ISTQB or equivalent testing certification.
• SAP S/4
  
  HANA certification (functional or integration) and/or Windchill admin/implementation experience.
• Prior hands‑on experience with manufacturing systems (MES/MWS) integrations and familiarity with EDI.
• Experience with CI/CD and automated test frameworks for API/IDoc validation.
• Familiarity with change management and production cutover practices.

• Test plan, traceability matrix, and complete test case library.
• Reconciliation scripts/reports and dress rehearsal results.
• Defect dashboards (severity, age, owners) and daily/weekly status reports during critical phases.
• KPIs: test coverage %, requirement coverage, pass/fail rate, number of P1 defects at cutover, mean time to resolve P1/P2 defects, reconciliation pass rate, dress rehearsal success rate, go/no‑go readiness.
