Position SummaryThe CDL Orientation Facilitator is responsible for designing, coordinating, and delivering comprehensive Contractor/New Hire orientation/onboarding and equipment training programs. This role ensures all contractors/employees are properly onboarded, trained, and compliant with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements prior to performing job duties. The manager serves as the primary point of contact for orientation, equipment readiness, and training documentation.
Key Responsibilities Orientation & Onboarding- Lead and facilitate full-cycle onboarding/orientation programs
- Ensure completion of all onboarding requirements, including:
- Company policies and procedures
- Safety expectations
- Compliance and regulatory training
- Contract signing
- Coordinate onboarding schedules with Operations, HR, Safety, and IT
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all onboarding documentation
- Serve as the primary orientation presenter and facilitator
- Develop and deliver equipment‑specific training programs (vehicles, tablets, tools, systems, etc.)
- Ensure employees are trained and qualified before using company equipment
- Oversee equipment assignments and readiness for new hires
- Coordinate hands‑on training, demonstrations, and assessments
- Introduce operational workflows and best practices
- Ensure training programs meet DOT, OSHA, and company compliance requirements (as applicable)
- Maintain training records, certifications, and sign‑off documentation
- Partner with Safety and Compliance teams to update training content
- Support post‑incident retraining and corrective action plans when required
- Create and update training materials, presentations, guides, and checklists
- Evaluate training effectiveness and implement improvements
- Standardize orientation and equipment training processes
- Stay current with regulatory changes and operational updates
- Work closely with Operations, Safety, and Leadership
- Provide training status updates and readiness reports
- Support scheduling and logistics for training classes
- Act as a subject matter expert for onboarding and equipment training
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- 3–5 years of experience in training, onboarding, operations, or safety‑related roles
- Experience facilitating group training and presentations
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Working knowledge of safety and compliance requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace
- DOT‑regulated or transportation/field‑operations experience
- Equipment, fleet, or technical training background
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Leadership and facilitation ability
- Attention to detail and compliance‑focused mindset
- Ability to manage multiple onboarding classes and schedules
- Problem‑solving and process improvement orientation
- Professional, approachable, and confident training style
- Ability to stand and present for extended periods
- Ability to conduct hands‑on equipment training
- Occasional lifting of training materials or equipment (up to 60 lbs)
- Flexible schedule to support training needs as required
